Professional Background

After learning a bit about the business world, Achom decided to start building some of his own companies. Even though some of his first ventures were not successful, Achom eventually established City Business Partners, which he sold to London based EGC.

Today, Fredrick Achom serves as the chairman of The Rosemont Group, an investment company that he founded. The Rosemont Group specializes in Luxury Goods and property investment in the United Kingdom and abroad. While much of their investments have been in Europe and West Africa, recently The Rosemont Group acquired a large portion of an Australian wine company and plans to launch a unique restaurant concept in Los Angeles.

In addition to The Rosemont Group, Achom created the highly successful Crystal Members Club which has locations throughout Europe, the Middle East, Los Angeles and Beijing. He also has invested privately in several successful ventures including Hanover Bars Ltd., Universal Properties Ltd., Night Management Ltd. and Caseflight Ltd. and others.

Achom has been extremely successful in what he calls serial investing, taking his knowledge and applying it to businesses, art and even fine wines. The success he's enjoyed has earned him some of the United Kingdom's top awards, including appearing on the United Kingdom's Black Powerlist for 2011. The list includes 100 of the most successful and influential residents of the United Kingdom, whether born there or not, and is the most widely read single -issue publication among the black British community. Achom in particular was highlighted for his success in investing and encouragement toward youth working to make their community better.

Achom reappeared on the list in 2012. The Nigerian-born UK resident got his start in the financial sector before becoming an investor. Some of his ventures include real estate, luxury items, restaurants, and fine wine. The list honors professionals from all walks of life, from businesses people to entertainers. He is joined on the list alongside rising stars in the legal, wealth management and public policy sectors. His holdings, which include Rosemont Brand Group and Bennett Brasseries & Wine Stores, as well as his co-partnership of the London members-only club Jalouse, contributed to his acknowledgment of success.

In addition to earning his high spot two years in a row on The United Kingdom's Black Powerlist, Frederick Achom also earned the distinction of being named as one of The London Evening Standard's London's 1,000 Most Influential People in 2010. The London Evening Standard cites Jalouse, which he co-owns with his partner, Alex Nicholl, as one of the reasons for his inclusion in the list. Jalouse is extremely large and located in Hanover Square, covered in Swarovski crystals and attracting such A-listers as Paris Hilton. Though he's well-known as an investor, the club has boosted his reputation as an entrepreneur.

Achom repeated his success with the London Evening Standard's London's 1,000 Most Influential People in 2011, earning a spot and a mention for Jalouse. The club, which opened in 2009, underwent a redesign to ring in 2012. In addition to his club and the success he’s garnered for it, the list mentioned his success in investing in fine wines, particularly wines from the Bordeaux region of France. Bordeaux wines have been very popular in the investing market recently not only because of how they hold their value but because of how their value increases rapidly over time, much like a fine piece of art.

Fredrick Achom currently lives in the United Kingdom with his longtime girlfriend and the mother of his two children. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, skiing and polo in addition to collecting art and wine.
