Is anyone using reciprocal marketing?
If you aren't using word of mouth to market your business, you should start now. Try it out with reciprocal marketing.
It is very simple. You send an article about your business to someone and they post it somewhere. In return they send you an article about their business and you will post it somewhere. You will both benefit from broadening your audience. There is never a guarantee of sales, but it is FREE advertising through word of mouth, and it gives us all a chance to make new connections. You can post on your website, blog, ning page, twitter, Facebook fan page, etcetra. Be creative, if you don't have a place to post articles on your site, create one and fill it up with great information. If your blog is focused on a specific topic, you can post a "Featured Business" post that is off subject. I regularly swap post on my blog, FB fan page and Twitter.

Hi Leah,
This is a great discussion topic! Let's hear from the community--what is everyone's experience with word of mouth marketing? Does any one have advice on how to increase referral business? Kara Your Community Editor
This is a very good idea. Thanks for sharing! It's a good way to increase your search engine ranking. Content and links factor into Google's returns. So a link and article from a different source will give your site more credibility. Plus bloggers are always looking for story ideas.
If anyone is interested in doing this please let me know. We have a great business with over 35 million products from 3000 partner stores. It is good to show people an opportunity to earn 2% cash back on anything they purchase or .5% from anyone they refer that purchase. The area I am in is too conservative. http://www.marketamerica.com/basesloaded/

Hi Leah,
Great idea! I have been doing this with my mastermind groups since this spring. It also saves time if you can pre-write their status updates for them to choose from (or they can edit what you already have).
