Merrill Lynch UK, an investment bank, hired Layton Tamberlin in 1998, giving him a position in the corporate finance department as well as in mergers and acquisitions. By the time Layton Tamberlin left that position in 2002, he had been involved in many important financial deals, such as the acquisition of Rockware Group and a transaction involving Gannett and Newsquest.
Layton Tamberlin's next position was at TDR Capital, where he advised on large investment deals that included businesses such as Pearl, Williams Scotsman and Algeco. His work there proved to be extremely fruitful, as the company reported an IRR in excess of 70% for the investments that were completed during those years.
In 2009 Layton Tamberlin became Chairman of a private medical clinic, Samedaydoctor. The nationwide clinics provide professional medical attention to walk-in clients, without the need for a prior appointment. The medical treatment offered includes general health care as well as specialties that include sexual health services and vaccinations.
